Lisa M Taber (Washington DC) is a development finance specialist with 13 years of experience developing, managing and evaluating policies and programs to leverage private investment for growth. Lisa Taber's work with development finance institutions and private financial intermediaries is informed by her hands-on experience in venture capital and managing a for-profit social enterprise and venture-backed company.

Lisa Taber's recent engagements include designing a World Bank line of credit for SME investment in energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy technology in Jamaica, participating on the joint World Bank-IMF Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) team for Ghana, and evaluating the Asian Development Bank's equity investment in a private mutual fund in the Philippines.

Previously, after receiving her B.A. degree in Economics from Stanford University, Lisa Taber worked as a consultant for the World Bank to develop and manage a portfolio of projects promoting sustainable access to finance for small businesses across Latin America. While earning her MBA from the University of Maryland, Lisa Taber became an associate at the New Markets Growth Fund, a socially oriented venture capital fund investing in seed stage technology companies in the Washington DC region. In 2006, Lisa Taber took a management role with the first of two small internet startups, including GeoIQ.com and Animals.com, for which she successfully helped obtain new rounds of private funding and launch their first flagship web products.
